Exercise 5: Working on the Wall Within

Think of some aspects that you feel are the most important ones for you to grow and develop, becoming a better person with regard to those aspects.

 

Listen to the voice of your Higher Self giving reasons why you should develop yourself in those aspects.

 

Now listen to your Lower Self as it explores the possible answers to the questions: “Why should you strive to develop in those areas? What is there for US? (The overall personality). What benefits will we gain if development in those aspects is achieved?”

 

Which of the motives of the Lower Self might you be willing to admit to third parties? Which would you rather hold and admit only to yourself?

 

After the previous “warm up” steps for your Observer Self, make an extra effort to identify additional Lower Self motives that you might have been refusing to admit so far, even to yourself. By doing this now, you will be allowing some forbidden thoughts and emotions to come across your inner wall, while also weakening the strength of that wall.
