Consider the following questions, and make notes for your future reference:
♦ What makes you think that something is either “good” or “bad”? In other words, which criteria would you apply to distinguish between good and bad desires, thoughts, feelings or deeds?
♦ How do you know when you are having a “bad” thought? (Or a “good” one?)
♦ What about your desires”? Think of a desire that you occasionally have, on a recurring basis. Do you perceive such desire as either “good” or “bad”? (Or “not so good”?) Why?
♦ What about your feelings”? Think of a feeling that you occasionally have, on a recurring basis. Do you perceive such feeling as either “good” or “bad”? (Or “not so good”?) Why?
♦ Pick one of your “bad” or “not so good” desires. Can you imagine any positive (“good”) aspects pertaining to that same desire?
♦ Pick one of your “good” desires. Can you imagine any negative (“bad”) aspects pertaining to that same desire?
♦ After having considered for some time your thoughts, desires and feelings, what would you fear most to discover about yourself? What would displease you the most if you found it to be currently true about you?
♦ Do you feel capable of accepting yourself (not hating yourself) if you found out that such a negativity does exist in you now?
